EXECUTIVE AVIATION TERMINAL
San Francisco International Airport
The San Francisco International Airport's new AMR COMBS Executive Aviation Terminal was one of the first major projects to be completed as part of the airport's master plan program. Work consisted of the demolition of existing buildings, construction of a temporary terminal, which was built adjacent to the permanent site so that operations were uninterrupted, and construction of all new facilities.
The construction management team provided hazardous materials abatement oversight, including removal of asbestos, an abandoned jet fuel line and jet fuel contaminated soil. Utility work included the removal of underground utilities and the installation of new irrigation drainage and sanitary sewer lines. The completed project consists of more than 60,000-sf of facilities, including a new 10,000-sf Executive Terminal, and two 25,000-sf hangars. The Executive Terminal's state-of-the-art features include private conference rooms, a passenger lounge, pilot's lounge, and health club.
EPC provided construction management services on this project as part of a joint venture with three other firms.
